Sarah Reed, Third Grade Teacher
Welcome to this classroom! I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This is my 15 year teaching and third year working with students at Field. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I have been an instructional coach, have wrote curriculum for the district, have been a demonstration site coach, but my true love is working with students by being a teacher in a classroom!!!
I received my undergraduate degree in teaching from the University of Louisville and my master's from Indiana University, Southeast. Prior to being a teacher in the JCPS school system, I was a preschool teacher for five years.
I live in the Crescent Hill Neighborhood with my husband, who is a high school teacher, my two daughters, Hayley and McKinley. They also attend Field Elementary. McKinley is a fifth grader and Hayley is a second grader. I have two dogs, Kayla a rat terrier, and Jules a black lab. We also have a hamster named "sweetie". The new addition to the family is Fluffy Ella Reed our class pet, which is a rat!
In my spare time I like to go to learn about technology and how to use it and spend time in my backyard with my family. I am National Board Certified teacher in Literacy. Currently, I am working on a Fairy Project grant with the students next year with the other third grade classrooms.
I look forward to an interesting and fun year. I will strive to make this classroom a fun and engaging environment. I believe in students' being responsible, independent, and holding high expectations for all my students. I look forward to working with you and your child to grow, learn and be the best that they can be!
